York with older teen - ideas

I was a student in York a million years ago but then moved away. I haven't been back for about 7 years and even then, it was just for a week's holiday with younger DC.

Now my 17 y.o DS is strongly considering it for university and we've booked a weekend up there later this spring. I'd love any ideas from people in the area about anything new that older teens might enjoy: places to eat / have coffee; things to do that I might not have thought of.

I have my own list of lovely places and treats (not to mention a few ghosts to lay!) but I know the city has changed a lot in the last 30 years or so.

Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

I took my DCs to York a few years ago specifically to visit the York Armoury where DS bought himself a sword Grin We didn’t do much else there tbh, except stargazing as it was the Perseid Meteors, so that’s all I’ve got!

My dc love “Panda- Mami” to eat in York. Serve tire self buffet style from around the world. It’s a chain - previously called Cosmo- so you may know it/ not be bothered, but my dc are country bumpkins.

The city ghost walks are meant to be very good.
