We are quite happy to offer accommodation to someone in need. Filled in the forms etc before the government even offered a financial incentive. Provided references to one particular charity but have so far heard nothing. I've joined some of the facebook groups that have sprung up but am really unhappy about joining in with what what literally seems like a bidding process. Just wondered if any of the matching services had started to operate ?

Have a look around your local area.

For example the sports club my ds competes with have 2 families with kids who compete in the same sport looking for host families.

So they are asking if anyone has signed up or if they are going to.

But sadly I think the bidding process as you called it is t going to change as such.

The matching does need to be done by the host.

It's great so many are willing to host a family though.

At the end of the day, the council need to check the family is a good match with the host because they will need to deal with the fallout if it happens.

Btw, not that this matters, but did you know they get universal credit when they arrive?

We were early joiners.
Sadly it does seem to be a popularity contest and a lot of choose me type posts.
