Tell me about your “fantastic” Mother’s Day morning so far….(lighthearted)

DC (8) gave me a lovely hand made card and a tacky photo frame (but very cute thought)

DC (13) didn’t bother to say happy Mother’s Day, reluctantly made me a cup of tea that tastes like cats piss, no card, grumbled and went back to bed.

DC (8) has now brought me some out of date yoghurt as a “treat”

What a sense of occasion!

What have yours done for you…?

Well my first mother's day technically started at midnight with a baby who would not sleep until 3am and then gave me the gift of a pooey nappy at 7 Sad

I did then get some lovely gifts apparently chosen by my 8 month old when she was out with my mother yesterday (who waved her round in front of the shelves in shops i like and waited until she grabbed something resulting in a bathbomb, a bag of strawberry chocolate puddles, a shower gel and a brooch)

We then spent the day at the beach with her refusing to nap and me treating myself to chips

Holding the baby in front of shop shelves is hilarious and only something a mum would do 🤣

I've had enough of mooching around feeling teary on Mother's Day so I took matters into my own hands and arranged a lovely picnic with all the mums in my family. I had a card and flowers made out of paper and straws that my DS made at school on Friday which I love! DH bought us in dinner from a restaurant...he's gradually learning how to be thoughtful, every year gets a little better. Tonight I'm going to watch Bridgerton, possibly with wine, I have some but not sure if I actually fancy any.

@thebigdilemma, that is his way of telling you to make him some cup cakes.

DS had an event this morning that was preceded by some epic moaning about clocks robbing him of sleep, then redeemed matters by collecting the lovely bouquet my darling sister organised, then became a twit again but has just volunteered to empty the dishwasher

A game of two halves to be sure.

I was at work at 0730. 😑
DS1 forgot I was at work and FaceTimed me. So much nicer than a card

The DS2 cooked the M&S meal deal I bought. The Roast pork was truly amazeballs Grin and tasted better as I didn't have to do a thing apart from a lush 2 hour nap when I got home at 1700. DH is currently washing up, after bringing me a cup'o tea.

Better than a birthday (well not the one next week as I'm taking myself off to Rhodes for a Shirley Valentine week).

Feeling like a right wanker now for whinging.

Just seen a fb friends Mother's Day status. She lost 2 babies late term in two years and then her DH committed suicide.

Feeling like a right whiney bitch and wishing I could go give her a hug.
