Tell me about your “fantastic” Mother’s Day morning so far….(lighthearted)

DC (8) gave me a lovely hand made card and a tacky photo frame (but very cute thought)

DC (13) didn’t bother to say happy Mother’s Day, reluctantly made me a cup of tea that tastes like cats piss, no card, grumbled and went back to bed.

DC (8) has now brought me some out of date yoghurt as a “treat”

What a sense of occasion!

What have yours done for you…?

I got a Facebook post from teen DD but that’s my lot. My sister transferred her some money yesterday and told her to buy me something but she forgot, apparently. So not even a card for me. I’ve ordered myself a Greggs delivery to make up for it.

NameChangeCity123 · 27/03/2022 11:04

Found my Mother's Day present hidden in the cupboard yesterday when I was putting clothes away. Husband is still sleeping. 9 month old has given me a lovely nappy and is now dozing beside me. Have made a cuppa and am going to do wordle in peace. Husband will make brunch when he gets up. The peace is the best gift 😂

Momr · 27/03/2022 11:16

This is really fantastic. Memorable one. He alone made me so special with card , teacher asked them to draw something what your mum does for you. I got a front cover with bean stalk, jack coming down and mum standing with axe in her hand to give him. Back cover, he is handing mum bunch of flowers. Breakfast in bed, flowers ( no money has been spent). He even played drought with me though he is hurt by being mean ( captured a row, when I said please don't ruin my mums day :). Ds is 8 y old.

DS1 has just popped in, on his way to work, (pub restaurant with 200 covers today) to deliver a box of my favourite Lindor chocolates, a card and a big hug.
My present from my Edinburgh-based DS2 is himself for the week; a gorgeous surprise visit!

Meanwhile the grandchildren have presented their mum with the cards and gift that I made sure they had ready for her.

Sending virtual Flowers to all of you mums.

oatlattetogo · 27/03/2022 11:26

I am currently pregnant with baby No1, but I have received a lovely joint present and card from bump and the dog, and a very sweet present from my step children who are with their mum. I also got a cup of tea and some biscuits in bed and we’ll have brunch in a bit.

On the downside I have covid so I won’t be having planned afternoon tea with my own mum and grandmother, which is rubbish. Luckily neither of them will be on their own though.

Flowers to all those who are not having a brilliant day so far.

isthatanotherbastardgrey · 27/03/2022 11:28

Started off in a strop, having unloaded the dishwasher, done a couple of wash loads and cleaned the kitchen. BUT will concede that I am being a stroppy, pregnant, whingy cow and am actually very lucky,

Dogs bought me a bunch of M&S flowers and some Percy pigs, which were delivered yesterday - M&S accidentally sent two deliveries so have a MASSIVE display which looks pretty impressive.

DD-to-be woke me up at stupid o clock with an almighty kick to the bladder, which made me wobble run to the loo as a matter of urgency. Didn't piss myself though, so that was nice.

DSD16 and 10 have been to pick up their florist order this morning and gave me two massive bunches of gypsophilia - they'd done their research and found out it was called baby's breath, so one was from them, and one was from bump 🥰 also massive bar of white chocolate which Has been my one preg craving.

Was secretly hoping baby would arrive today, but think she's going to make us wait a few days more!

Mum is on her way over for lunch (which DH is cooking), and we're off to the garden centre to buy spring bedding plants, and step mum is popping in for tea. All in all, cannot complain!

I got a lie in and went downstairs at 9.30 to two cards from DD, flowers, wine, chocolate, wild flowers and a bracelet. Ds was still in bed but when he woke up he presented me with a card and chocolate he bought with his own money for the first time which was lovely. My adult eldest has forgotten and I very much doubt I will get anything.

Dp made me a bacon roll and DD had a tantrum because I wouldn't let her have more chocolates than the 3 I'd let her have.

Dagnabit · 27/03/2022 11:34

DS(10) made 2 cards at school and Cubs but didn’t have time to write a message in them Grin. He did make me a lovely cup of tea this morning and also wrote a lovely message in a bought card.

DD(12] wrote a lovely card and took charge of the present - box of chocs, body yoghurt (not out of date) and facial scrub. She also made coffee and offered to make me a sausage sandwich. Oh and made some homemade decorations - she does love a celebration.

DS made cookies with his dad yesterday and DD made some rocky road - basically I’ll be getting fat(ter) for Mother’s Day. Oh, and I heard DH grumbling yesterday, about it costing a fortune and it wasn’t even a birthday 😂

LadyFancyPants · 27/03/2022 11:37

Decided we would go for a walk. 7 year old pooed herself half way round. Spent half an hour trying to clean her off with tissues, leaves and water bottle. Then walked back with carrier bag of shit and not even slightly remorseful child. Then spent twenty minutes trying to hose dried on crap off child. I’ve binned the clothes, looked at the Mother’s Day chocolates and can’t stomach them. Now off to make dinner for everyone 😬

anotherheadache · 27/03/2022 11:40

Well, considering I'm barren after many years of TTC and have no children to show for it, I'm having a pretty good one!!

My DH left me in bed to lie in, made me coffee and toast. He's now preparing a roast dinner for me, both our mothers and his sister while I chill and do nothing at all! I got myself a good'un when I married him 🥰 ... and yes he will do all the washing up too!

SpringLobelia · 27/03/2022 11:42

I was presented with flowers, a card and some chocolate violet creams! I called my mother. halfway through (at 8.30-ish) DH gave me a glass of champagne.

The afternoon will be washing school uniform, ironing and helping DCs with homework. I am with my family and my pets and I will make meatloaf for dinner.

I am having a wonderful day!!!!

Whelmed · 27/03/2022 11:44

DC 8 and 3 made me a cup of tea, toast and gave me a big hug. DH still sleeping after a night shift.

Oh your DSDs' flowers from baby and them is just the most lovely thing I have read for ages. :)
lightisnotwhite · 27/03/2022 11:46

Mine asked if I would like a coffee in bed bless him. Had to remind him how I take it ( black no sugar so literally just coffee and water) No card. He’s 18 However he’s gone to work so I have a whole day in the sun to myself with a left over Chinese for lunch.
We know how to live.

My3cents1 · 27/03/2022 11:46

My dp apparently forgot it was Mother’s Day and arranged to go out with our daughter, the neighbor and her children. Granted he did say he would cancel but I told him to go…. I would rather not see his face tbh.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 27/03/2022 11:47

DD got up and walked the dog meaning I could stay in bed, utter bliss

MsSquiz · 27/03/2022 11:50

DD (2 years old) slept in til after 8am, woke up boiling but had been entangled in her duvet. Then proceeded to vomit all over our super long size duvet as I opened my gifts. She's since been sick twice more and now tested positive for covid and I've just hit 8 months pregnant!

But we're now sitting in the back garden, trying to enjoy the sun!

glowingcandle · 27/03/2022 11:51

DD2 was sick at 5am, it was everywhere and she was really upset so both DH and I were needed to clean her up, change sheets etc.

Had to take DD1 to swimming at 9am, got flashed by a speed camera on the way there doing 36 in a 30 zone (I know it's totally my fault but it's an industrial estate so god knows why it's a 30). It is the first time this has ever happened to me in nearly 20 years of driving.

What a morning 🤦🏻‍♀️

LaWench · 27/03/2022 11:52

DD has given me Covid as a gift. I'm being abandoned by my family in my cozy bedroom with lots of drugs. Happy Mother's Day 💐

peanutbuttertoasty · 27/03/2022 11:52

DH has said happy Mother's Day to everyone (including my mum) except me. I am 9 months pregnant with his child. Asked if he was going to bring me a cuppa in bed. He just snorted and walked off. Happy Mother's Day me. Can't wait to push his baby out Hmm

NorthernChinchilla · 27/03/2022 11:53

Last year's Mother's Day I was at the undertakers sorting out the finer details of my Mum's funeral.

This year I was therefore hoping for something better. Instead, everyone has Covid (thankfully not ill) and DH and DCs have forgotten. Can't even take myself out for something nice!

At least I bought myself flowers and scones in our 'survive the week indoors' online shop.

MrsBerthaRochester · 27/03/2022 11:54

Ds1 came back from his pals at 9am ruining my lie in. Did a stinky shit that has stunk out the whole house and gave me a Happy Birthday card and a £1 bottle of perfume.
Ds2 gave me the presents that I had to buy myself and dd is still sleeping and will have forgotten its Mothers day.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 27/03/2022 11:55

Dd 15 not awake yet.

Ds 28 text me ‘Hap Mothers Day’ then proceeded to tell me about his broken heartGrin

Neither have got up yet

justhaveagingerbiscuit · 27/03/2022 11:56

My baby shit up his back.
My toddler is having a tantrum because I picked the wrong tights.
Hubby has helped them pick nice cards and a present though
