Single people with double beds, how do you arrange your pillows?

Do you have left and right pillows and then have to sit/sleep on one side, or do you have them centralised? I keep thinking my bed looks wrong without left/right pillows.

Left right for when it's made in the day
Two behind head when still awake
Spread out in a sort of L shape when sleeping it's lovely and comfortable to have the corner space of the L Smile
(I've thought about this quite a bit)

MadMadMadamMim · 26/03/2022 23:48

I have four pillows spread out in a single line across my KS bed so that wherever I jiffle or roll to I have a pillow. (If that makes any sense) 🙂

AssignedBlobbyAtBirth · 26/03/2022 23:51

I only have 1 side of the bed. 2 cats and 1 dog have the other side but we all stay in our lane unlike when ex was hereGrin

I have 3 pillows. One on each side, and one for my head in the middle.

VampireMoney · 26/03/2022 23:53

I have 4 pillows all strewn across the top of the bed so I can move around and get comfy wherever feels right. Usually right in the middle. I pile them up behind my head if I'm staying away watching telly or having a cuppa.

crackofdoom · 26/03/2022 23:53

I surround myself with a rectangular fortification of pillows, so I always have somewhere to rest my book when lying down. I also sleep with one between my knees. There's no room for a man in my life, it's too full of pillows 😆

PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn · 26/03/2022 23:53

Oooh I like to shape two pillows as an upside down V and then place one at the point and another nestling in the middle of the V, which is where my head goes Smile

Will0wtree · 26/03/2022 23:54

@thebigaghast The L shape sounds like a game changer! Going to try that tomorrow night. (Such a good idea, but never thought of it myself).

crackofdoom · 26/03/2022 23:55

I think we're going to need diagrams for some of these.

Stopsnowing · 26/03/2022 23:59

I always sleep on one side and never the middle. I don’t know why.

Not single but DP works nights a lot. Pillows piled up in the middle if reading/watching TV. Three pillows next to each other when sleeping. This way whichever way I turn, there’s always a beautiful cold pillow ready for me. I also have one of these massive pregnancy pillows, this is particularly good for reading. And I also have one of these special pillows for putting between the legs if sleeping on side to ease back/hip pain (I’ve hurt my back moving furniture…).
I LOVE having the bed to myself. I sleep so much better.

VampireMoney · 27/03/2022 00:06

@PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn I might try that. Mine are quite chaotic.

Popsicle33 · 27/03/2022 00:15

I've got 2 regular pillows and 2 square. And a V shaped one. I love my pillows 😍

whatnumber · 27/03/2022 00:21

You can buy extra long pillows!

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 27/03/2022 00:26

I have two plump pillows per each side of the bed. But when I sleep alone I remove them and just have one sad and flat (and very comfy) pillow. Like I'm some kind of spartan.

LemonViolet · 27/03/2022 00:42

Often sleep alone as DP does shifts

We have SIX PILLOWS as I like at least 3 at any one time. When it’s just me I build a kind of nest in the middle of the bed and curl up in it surrounded by dogs and cats Grin

When bed is made pillows are put into left/right sides with 1 flat and 2 on top of that propped against the headboard.

EBearhug · 27/03/2022 02:07

Well. When the bed is made, it's two pillows either side with a long one across both sides. When I go to sleep, the long one will be in bed on my side, so I can cudgel up to it, and two of the other pillows are at my side on the other side, in case I turn over in the night. One pillow under my head. The other... depends on my mood.

One man came to my bed, and asked in somewhat sceptical tones if I really slept on all those pillows, and I didn't want to explain how I arranged them in case I sounded totally mad. I didn't feel that he should have been questioning it anyway. He wasn't there to sleep, nor inspect the pillows.

ABitOfAShitShow · 27/03/2022 06:27

😂

I’ve never even entertained the idea of only having one (stack) of pillows in the middle when I had a double (and was single obviously). It would look ridiculous not have two sides in a king size.

I have two (different because I like to spice things up) memory foam pillows that are for actually sleeping on. I have two other pillows that float around the bed. Sometimes I like to fling my legs or arms over them…sometimes I like to sort of pile them on me…I’m a terrible sleeper so I’m always looking for some magic. 😂

popandchoc · 27/03/2022 07:23

My pillows are as normal and I always sleep on one side .

Ratonastick · 27/03/2022 07:24

However I like!

ukborn · 27/03/2022 07:59

Two pillows side by side and I tend to sleep on one side but use the other pillow as a rest (my elbow is resting on it now) so it is turned sideways. But when I get up I'll make them go side by side again.

Just tried this. Brilliant idea - so snuggly!
NannyR · 27/03/2022 08:04

Two pillows side by side during the day, one pillow in the centre for sleeping (other one gets chucked on the floor)
