Have you ever had dreams or thoughts that have come true?

I remember years ago I had a dream about an uncle (who I never see) who was crying in my dream, a week later my dad told me my aunt (the uncles wife) had been diagnosed with cancer. Last year during lockdown I kept having thoughts about Russia invading Europe, and recently I had a feeling that my colleague was going to hand her notice in. Low and behold last week she did.

Had anyone else had thoughts or dreams that have turned into reality?!

I dreamt that my brother had fallen on a train track and his leg was burnt in a very specific pattern. The next day he had an accident on his bike and had a very bad friction burn in exactly the same place and pattern. Thankfully he was fine.

I also knew my husband was dead as I was walking up the stairs before I found his body - but I had had similar thoughts before so I can't really say it was something I knew. But I do think I knew he would die before me, which really wasn't expected.

I once had a dream about giving birth in my bathroom. There were too many people fussing and I felt really claustrophobic.

A few years later I did give birth in a bathroom. Sadly it was the small downstairs one with the cat litter tray in it, not the bigger nicer one upstairs like in my dream.

I had thoughts of having 2 dd's with 2 particular names. After 6 ds's in a row it was unlikely. And def wasn't thinking of having any more dc.
Did in fact have 2 dd's and felt compelled to use those names.
Was very weird tbh!

This happens my sister a lot. I dream a lot but nothing that comes true. My sister dreamt a guy she knew vaguely at work went home and his gf told him she was pregnant. The next time she saw him she jokingly told him about the dream and he almost fell over in shock because it had happened exactly that way.

TheUsualShitshow · 26/03/2022 22:29

When I was pregnant I pictured my daughter running up to me at about 12 months, wearing a specific dress. That's how she got her name.

When she was 1 we were at a party and she came running up to me, and I realised she was wearing the exact dress I'd seen in my mind about 18 months previously, before she was even born.

I think it's like deja-vu only the other way round - more of a premonition kind of thing.

I've had it all my life. When I was a little kid, for a while I genuinely believed that if I thought of something, the very fact that I'd thought of it would make it happen. It was quite scary.

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 26/03/2022 22:30

I had a dream that my parents bought a specific building. My parents had lived in the same house for 30 years and had never talked about moving. The building in my dream wasn’t one you could actually buy to live in (though they lived in it in my dream).

My dsis and I were on holiday, didn’t phone home and this was before social media. I told my sister my dream in the morning, it was the day we were flying home.

Landed at the airport and we rang our parents.

Parents said “we’re moving! We’re buying a house”. Dsis said “that’s funny, ThatPoster dreamt you bought X building”. And parents replied “…it’s next door to X building”. In fact on land that was originally part of X.

I had a minor one once. I dreamed that I had a petty row with a sibling and to spite me, they took away their video recorder I was borrowing. A few hours later, that's exactly what happened Grin

peaceanddove · 26/03/2022 22:31

Yes. The first night I ever shared a bed with DH I had a very vivid dream. We were walking, holding hands, across this vast, empty landscape. I knew (as you can know in dreams) that we were the only people there. Just us. And no one else for thousands of miles. And I felt completely at peace and content. When I woke up I knew we'd spend the rest of our lives together.

Thirty two years later, looks like I was right.

I had always dreamt of having a girl with brown eyes brown hair. I am blonde hair blue eyes. Had a boy who is blonde hair blue eyes 3 girls 1 very blonde hair and blue eyes and 1 is a dark blonde blue eyes and my other daughter has brown hair and brown eyes. People always say she looks nothing like me because she is so dark..

I had a dream about a work colleague having a fling with a new junior member of staff. He was 12 years younger than her and still lived with his parents , she was married.
The day after the dream, I told her about it, there were a couple of other people there too, they all found it hilarious. He’d only been with the company for two weeks and no one really knew him. Fast forward a month, they were having sex in the ladies toilet on the works Christmas do Shock
Think the affair lasted six months, she ended up divorced and he dumped her and left the company

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 26/03/2022 22:36

I also dreamt I was in a plane crash. It was very specific. We were flying round and round trying to land, but they couldn’t land it, I was desperate for the loo so got up to go to go to the plane loo and that’s when it crashed. I woke up.

The next day there was a plane crash in similar circumstances in Russia, it had been trying to land for a while.

I often used to dream of plane crashes but was never sure if the dream was before or after the crash (as in I might have heard it on the news but not realised), but this one was definitely my dream first.

I used to live under the flight path which might be why I regularly dreamt of crashes!

My fil had a stroke. He seemed to be getting better and we were making plans for his convalescence.
A week later I dreamt that my mil, who had already died, took fil's arm and led him away.
The next day fil had another massive stroke and died.

freshcarnation · 27/03/2022 10:36

I dreamt about a gunman killing people in a shopping centre. Had this dream repeatedly for about a week before it happened in real life.

Also dreamt Tony Blair was in hospital. Woke up and it was on the news

lobsterkiller · 27/03/2022 10:46

Yes, not often.

Last one was one where my then boyfriend was talking to me in a dream saying welcome to the ex club....never heard from him again.

Ifailed · 27/03/2022 11:04

I once had a dream where I was running around, desperate for a loo, until I eventually found one and had a pee. when I woke up I found it was true.

Milomonster · 27/03/2022 11:29

Yes. Before my first child was born, I dreamt my SIL was looking after her in a place of religious worship, and she she was taken away. I cried when I woke up as the thought of losing my child was unbearable. She passed away a day after she was born.

popandchoc · 27/03/2022 11:52

I dreamt my sister was pregnant and told my parents who knew she was (but managed not to say anything ). I didn’t think she would have another child so was strange !

100problems · 27/03/2022 16:35

More that if I have a moment where, say I'm driving along enjoying the moment and thinking life is good, it is uncanny that within 24 hours life goes to utter shit. I am actually afraid to have those thoughts now.

100problems · 27/03/2022 16:39

I was also in the pub once at Christmas and a guy I knew was saying the next big global event would be a Tsunami, at the time it was a word I had never heard before. Want to guess the year?

I was also in a pub late one summer when another guy was talking about a bloke called Osama Bin Laden, a name I'd never heard before.

@ Milomonster so sorry for your loss FlowersFlowers

Not a dream, but one day as I was walking from the station to work, I just knew I had to phone my mum.

Now, phoning friends/family, was absolutely off the table, in my family. Nevertheless, I just had to phone her. This was before the days before mobiles.

I did. The conversation was a bit odd, I asked if she was ok. She said she was, but asked if my sister had phoned me to tell me mum's oldest sister had died hours ago.

I'm not a woo kind of person, but that was odd. I've also had a couple of strange things happen over the years. But then, I reason, it would be odd if no strange thing had happened to me in 71 years.

felizdia · 27/03/2022 23:02

Yes. I dreamt that Diana died in a car crash, a week later she did! It still freaks me out!

Cherryana · 27/03/2022 23:10

A number of years ago I had a dream I was floating through a school library that was on a second floor. The colours of the school were yellow.

I went for a job not long after and got it but the school was blue (branding, signs etc). When I finished there in 2019 I never ever thought I would go back to teaching.

But now I am back, and the school has a first floor library that is long and thin like my dream and it’s yellow. I find it a strange coincidence.

Animum2 · 27/03/2022 23:21

Only time this happened for me was when I was in junior school. Had a dream that 2 kids were fighting and the next day the same 2 kids had a fight in the exact same way the dream happened
