Do you need to generate a "prove your status share code" prior to going abroad on holiday? Or is it at least sensible to do?

I realise that as long as my passport is linked to my UKVI account it should just be a case of scan and go. But not sure if it's sensible to generate a code/print something off if there's a problem!

Dh was recently challenged on this to return to the UK at the departure airport so definitely take some documentation. He showed the email.

Hey, I never have (and have never been asked to prove it.Flowers. Your code takes seconds to generate though so you could do it at the airport if asked. Bloody Brexit erhFlowers

Thanks for the responses!

Which email did he show @Emsmaman?

I'm helping someone try and get everything in order before they go. They are not very tech savvy and I don't think they would be able to generate a code on their own.

Bloody brexit Hmm

I think it was the outcome letter email @bummocks123

Lndnmummy · 26/03/2022 21:09

Oh yes! There is an email you get with the outcome of the application. Perhaps you can help the person download it and save it on their phone or print a copy and keep with their travel documents?

Lndnmummy · 26/03/2022 21:11

Sorry cross posts!

Lndnmummy · 26/03/2022 21:12

The email is called status outcome or similar. It will be from the home office.

Bummocks123 · 26/03/2022 21:23

Ah yes! Thank you! We have managed to locate the letter and now have it printed!
