Coil...

Just wondering how you felt and how your body reacted.

Had mine in 24 days. Period arrived on the correct day (10 days ago) I'm still light bleeding and no signs of it going. Although it's made it much lighter im not liking this constant spotting. Pads are irritating my skin and my boyfriend has no desire to come near me if there's a risk of blood being seen or ending up on him..

I feel mildly headachy and getting on and off mild cramps. Also my face seems to be getting hairy???

I had the coil done 2 years ago. I had horrible cramping at first, something I don't normally get with periods, followed by heavy bleeding. After that my periods stopped completely Smile sadly since heaving both covid vaccines my period is back and I have it every 2 months. The bleeding is light as well like yours and stays for about 7 days, but I'm not sure if that's due to the coil or the vaccine?

I had mine fitted for flooding and I bled almost constantly (‘normal’ period levels) for 3-4 months then one day it stopped and I dropped into a textbook 4-wk cycle before that tailed off to the occasional spot. I was on the verge of having it out when it finally settled. Cramps are quite normal in the early days but if you have sharper pains you can get your go to check it’s sitting correctly. For me it was definitely worth the initial bleeding phase, but it’s depressing while it’s happening. I’m on my second now and wouldn’t be without it.

I had spotting for weeks, months even. Pain in my pelvic area for a long time. And YES to the hairiness, although I don't think it's listed as a side effect so my doctor said it couldn't be caused by it.
None of these were great and I thought hard about getting it taken out.
But eventually it did sort out my previously extremely heavy and unpleasant periods - so has been worth it for that alone. The body hair is still an issue but I'd be frightened to go back to my periods as they were before.

Like PP, took a few months to settle then fine. I was grumpy, tearful, bled for ages. Then I wasn't Grin Worth it for the following 4 years of ease.

On pads, could invest in some fabric washable ones or period pants as unlikely to irritate and if you have a similar long term experience to others of having v light periods or spotting, you'll use them for a couple of days a month.
