So I’ve been with my boyfriend for 1.5years and I am now almost 8 weeks pregnant. It was not planned but it is happy news, he is an amazing man.
Thinking about finances. We both own our own houses. He a two bed me a 3 bed. Have a similar mortgage but I outright own 75% of my house and him maybe 60%. My house is about £265,000 and his £150,000.
I have a 6 year old daughter and he doesn’t have any previous children.
We really need to move into mine as we need the extra bedroom. I have been through a horrific divorce and the marriage was abusive. It took me 2years to remove my ex from the house that was not his and I lost quite a bit of money.
I am worried that if it goes wrong again I don’t think I could go through all that stress.
What do you think would be a good idea, we rent his so he had a place if it doesn’t work.
But then who pays my mortgage as I’ll be off work for a while and MAT pay is rubbish. I will also loose £500 universal credit I receive at the moment.
I know I should talk to him but just thinking of what ideas to put across when we do.
