DP and I have the whole Easter weekend off work. It's my fave weekend of the year - all the good stuff of Christmas, none of the shit! I really want to make the most of it so am scouting for ideas

We live in East London, have a car so could also do Essex / Herts. We love walking, pubs, nice restaurants, visiting gardens / galleries / markets, bit of shopping. Please share some nice relaxing adults only suggestions. Thanks!

Walk from Manningtree Station, there are routes up the Stour?

For pubs, I’d recommend The Peterboat in Essex.
For gardens, we like Hyde Hall and Audley End and for walks we like Hatfield Forest and Hanningfield Reservoir. Hanningfield has a nice little cafe with great views, but there’s also an amazing pub nearby called The Old Windmill.
We also like The Sportsman in Kent (in the top 10 Uk gastro pubs) and you can combine it with a lovely walk. We normally do an 'out and back' route along the Saxon Shore Way. From the pub, the path leads past beach houses and along the seawall towards Seasalter Beach. Whistable is very close and great for a mooch around the shops.

Greenwich! Market, great food, lovely park, the observatory. I just realised I need a Greenwich day.
