Is this a thing! Are finger prick test often quite painful? I've had a few but this is annoying!

Donated blood more than 25hours ago and the finger prick still hurts.

It went a funny grey shade too and now it's red and hot. And it's my index finger too.

Ouch

It does look like it could be a bruise but if all your fingers have changed colour since then thats best to check, did they use that arm for the transfusion.

Somuddled · 22/03/2022 18:40

How come ALL your finger tips appear blue? Is that usual for you?

Featuredcreature · 22/03/2022 18:50

Did they do it on the tip or side? I was always told to do lancets on the side.

And to never use the index finger
cherrypiepie · 22/03/2022 19:05

I don't think they are blue in real life it's just weird lighting- I hope. But could just see the odd colour comparison in the index finger.

Yes in the side near the top curved bit.

I donated from the other arm.

I will ask them to do it from the middle or ring finger get next time.

I reckon it's just an awkward angle, index finger and I have been writing a lot today.

i would ring 111.
i have seen galloping infection of soft tissue, which became sepsis and limb and life only saved just in time by urgent surgery.
before that experience i would not have thought much of your finger.
now i am on high alert. as time sensitive conditions wait for no one.
i would seek medical advice.
better to be safe than sorry.
good luck OP.
