Parking in central Greenwich

I have to attend an event in Greenwich West Community & Arts centre and am driving there by car. I'm confused about parking options and wondered if anyone could help? It looks like there is an Aldi up the road so I was wondering if I can park there? There is also a car park nearby called Burney Street car park but it looks really small. I would need to stay for 2-3 hours from 3.30 to around 6pm on a weekday.

Sorry for the boring thread but I was hoping there might be some local mumsnetters who could help.

Burney street should be fine on a Wednesday afternoon :)

Puppylucky · 22/03/2022 10:49

There is some very limited parking in front of the Aldi but it's a small one in a parade of shops so not the parking options you might be imagining. Burney St isn't that small - 150 cars maybe? Otherwise there is limited pay and display on street parking. You might be better off heading to East Greenwich - there's another carpark off Trafalgar Road and walking back up.

I usually use the "your parking space" app and book at new capital quay se10 9fq which is a carpark underneath a Waitrose when I go to Greenwich. Usually costs about £6 for a day. Looks like it is about a 10 minute walk from where you need to be

There’s a huge car parking space Park Row in Greenwich but not sure how near that is to where you want to be.

Puppylucky · 22/03/2022 13:10

Park Row! Thats the one off Trafalgar Road I was thinking of.

worriedandannoyed · 22/03/2022 13:20

The car park in the park I think isn't that expensive for where it is... not sure what the maximum stay is though

worriedandannoyed · 22/03/2022 13:20

One of the hotels (IBIS sounds familiar) also rents out parking spaces by the hour

Asdawindowandglass · 22/03/2022 13:23

Park row is a long way from where you want to be. People park outside of west Greenwich community centre but I’m not sure how long you can do that. Parkopedia is accurate.

I thought there was a car park almost opp the Ibis - Sainsburys Local, that used to have good car parking.

Thank you so much everyone. I've booked a car park space in someone's drive through JustPark. Thank you for all of the advice.

I rent my drive out on there (nowhere near Greenwich though) and it seems to be a pretty painless process.

Lewisham Tesco is ten minutes away and although says three hours you can actually park for free all day.
