Anyone want to keep me company?

DS is fine. We are just both plagued by neverending rivers of mucus that get worse if we lie down.

I only got about 3 hours' sleep last night and looking on track for the same. Had to take him out of the bedroom in the end as no sense in me, DS and DH all being awake.

Hope I get a lie in tomorrow. No such luck this morning :( I don't have to do anything in the day luckily but do have nursery run for older child in afternoon, on public transport with crappy mask policy, I have stocked up today on cough sweets to get me through this.

My 12 month old has decided sleep is no longer for him, he still breastfeeds around the clock and co-sleeps, the past week I've had 3 hours sleep each night. He usually drops off at 3am but I'm up at 6am to get ready for work and get our other children ready for school. I'm actually dead. Least you can sleep in the day after the nursery run.

BertieBotts · 22/03/2022 02:57

Well only if he will go to sleep. Yesterday he would only sleep in the buggy. I suppose I could leave him with DH WFH if he does that.

I'd put him wherever he'd sleep!

Would you believe it 3am and off to sleep he goes, seems this is the new routine now 🤣 excellent. I now need my brain to switch off and try to sleep 😑. Can't believe I'm living on 3 hours sleep!!

florianfortescue · 22/03/2022 04:50

Sympathy to you both. I am up BFing my newborn having spent a few hours in A&E with my toddler for what turned out to be an ear infection. Have managed a couple of short naps tonight but not expecting to get much more. And two medical appointments tomorrow at different places so no chance to catch up Confused

I keep telling myself that one day - one glorious day - I will sleep for 10 hours and wake up naturally to the sound of my children happily making themselves breakfast. It may not be for a few years but it's coming!

I'm up with a teething nine month old. We recently had the rivers of mucus too Confused have you got one of those snot sucker things?

Pinkglittery · 22/03/2022 05:20

Oooh DS also has the rivers of mucus thing. Also a temp. He considers 4am to be morning time anyway so I'm used to that but it's my first day back at work today and he's doing his first full day of nursery. I'm so worried about it now.

BertieBotts · 22/03/2022 07:00

No, I don't like the snot suckers. We got through the night somehow but have both woken up to clear out the whole night's worth of coughing apparently.

Solidarity, OP. 2 year old DD isn't well, been up in the night coughing up gunk and now has a temperature. I've given her calpol and now she's watching CBeebies and I'm mainlining coffee. I'm meant to be meeting a friend with her new baby daughter today but we're not going to be able to go as I don't want to pass any illness on so I'm feeling fed up and sorry for myself as looks like another day stuck at home.
