BT hiking prices - which broadband provider do you use?

I need a reliable provider but want to change from BT, which seems hugely expensive. I don't use my landline but I do like to have it (standing charge is up as well).

Has anyone moved to BT? Recommend others?

We are with Now, was the cheapest on the market at the time and had good reviews which is why we picked them, no issues so far.

Hey thanks for this, @BlueSpottedGiraffe that's so helpful. They come up tops for value on comparison sites. Good to hear no issues...

WeaverofWords If you don't mind me asking, what is your current plan (inc extras) and how much do you pay for it? The latest BT phone and basic fibre BB package is £34 a month which isn't too bad. Where you get stung is with the extras which BT do charge more for than other suppliers. I'm currently with John Lewis and pay £36 per month which includes landline, unlimited UK calls and cheaper international calls. The service is pretty good, but they do make mistakes with their billing which to be fair, are always rectified on the next bill. John Lewis get their BB through Plusnet who are a cheaper arm of BT and are quite good apparently.
Many of the BB suppliers are putting up prices by the rate of inflation plus 3.9%.
In case you're not aware If it's time for contract renewal with BT then prepare to bargain with them. I reduced MiL's bill by £20 a month.
Sorry for the long reply Smile

Virgin, £80 a month 200mbp gamers' broadband, full TV package, two tivo boxes, landline with free calls and DHs mobile. I don't think that's bad for everything we get

I'm on BT at £20.81 per month. fibre broadband and landline with no calls included.

I'm contracted on that until May next year. Will have to see what they offer then

I’m with Vodaphone and pay £21.50 a month for the faster speed broadband. We have a landline but only use it for the broadband.

I work from home and have no complaints with broadband speed.

When I switched to them I got £90 Amazon voucher too 😊

Notdoingthis · 22/03/2022 06:56

£17 per month.

That's a good price. How did you manage to get it so low with BT? Cheapest I was ever offered was £26.

Xpologog · 22/03/2022 13:24

Vodafone. Just gone down to £19 a month for super fast 2. Did have all inclusive calls for £5 extra a month but realised I only use occasionally and have unlimited free on my mobile so no point. Still have landline of course.

I'm on Fibre 1 and pay £28.52 a month.

I don't use my landline but I do want to keep it. I need good broadband but this bill has crept up.

I don't need any extras. I have made 1 landline call in 3 years.

Yes, time to bargain! Your post is so helpful, thank you!
