Can I wear this to a wedding?

Hi all. DPs brother is getting married in July so I’m looking for an outfit for all day/night.
Fell in love with this one but haven’t been to many weddings so not sure how to dress! Any thoughts? Their bridesmaids are in peach and lemon if it matters but doubt I’ll be in many (if any!) of the formal pics anyway!

should I do a fascinator in the same colour? Considered cream/white but could be a risk! Black would get lost against my hair.

Love the dress, but wouldn’t bother with a fascinator!

Looks great!

Lovely dress - do you usually wear that type of retro dress though? Only because it's a bit of a "look" isn't it? By that I mean you need the right hair/makeup/shoes/bag to go with it. It can look a bit "dressing up" if you don't know how to style it. You would have to do your hair in a bit of a retro style too - but if that's your usual style you should be grand.

I would go for a clip in flower or even a little hat maybe rather than a fascinator - it depends which one you get though.

It is a lovely dress though and a lovely colour.

Definitely. Gorgeous dress.

I don’t think of that as a wedding guest kind of dress. Not keen. It would look most odd with a fascinator.

It's lovely.
Don't feel compelled to get a fascinator. There will be a mix.

beenaroundtheblox · 20/03/2022 21:27

Go for a little hat instead

SmellyOldOwls · 20/03/2022 21:29

The dress is lovely. Fascinators are a bit try hard.

Why? It's dressy and lovely. I think it's very appropriate

It is a very flashy dress so I wouldn't go overboard with the accessories. As the model does it is just fine

nopuppiesallowed · 20/03/2022 22:10

Love it!

If it’s formal church, I’d cover your shoulders/boobs with a wrap, just while you’re in the church. Non-church venue or modern-attitude church, it’s fine (though will you trust it not to slip down?)

Also, traditionally, green at weddings was meant to be unlucky. This is an old-fashioned idea now, so you only need to worry about it if the family is very traditional about stuff like that.
