Pregnant and terrible rib pain

As above, about 35 weeks now. Cant stand more than 5 minutes at the time before i have to lie down, the pain is very sharp. Could be the baby pushing with its legs/bottom, but it really is unbereable.
A bit better when lieing down, especially on my back, but doesnt completely go. Only pain free time is a short time in the morning upon waking up.
Any tips?

I feel for you I had this with my last pregnancy and it was debilitating. On the plus side as soon as I'd pushed her out, instantly no more rib pain! (Just vagina pain😂)

I'm 14 weeks now and thinking it's gonna start again soon 😭

It could be some tension in the diaphragm or the vagus nerve... a trip to the osteopath might help release it. Or child's pose.. forward leaning inversion / shaking the apples / side lying release from the Spinning Babies website.

I had this with my first, a great tip I heard was to put an ice pack on your ribs. The coolness will help soothe the pain but also it should encourage baby to shift position so they aren't pushing on your ribs anymore

Have you had your blood pressure checked recently? I saw rib pain and my mind automatically went to high blood pressure/pre-eclampsia. Definitely ring your midwife asap and hope everything is ok with you and little one

I had this from about 20 weeks in both if my pregnancies. The pain was awful and unbearable and stopped me from having any more children. As a previous poster said, it goes away during labour as the baby moves down. I have no tips, sorry, I found nothing to help.

I have absolutely no advice but I am in the exact same boat and I feel for you massively Thanks

Blood preassure is low, so not pre clampsia luckly. I am a bit worried about using spinning babies as she s head down now and wouldn't want her to flip, maybe thats silly lol
Had this to some degree with other pregnancies but not to this level!
