My own DM is forever on a diet so anything edible is out. I may get the classic bunch of flowers tbh unless I can think of anything cool and original so hoping for some ideas from you lot please Grin

A pretty personalised plant pot thing - not round but long so you can put small pots in it in a row. There’s a name for that which escapes me!

A bunch of daffs and some vegan truffles.

Robin233 · 20/03/2022 12:21

As a mom of 4 I love flowers.
I've already got an early present and had a peak (i know ) it's a candle in a glass- and I'm happy for of such a lovely gift.
It's the thought that counts though.

Bickles · 20/03/2022 12:23

An orchid in a pot, she loves orchids.

A knock off Oodie, saves a fortune in gas so it'll be the gift that keeps on giving 🤣

PatchworkElmer · 20/03/2022 12:27

Mine’s just having a flower delivery. She won’t go anywhere because of covid and is quite fussy about gifts. I’m recovering from covid and haven’t got the energy to be more imaginative at the moment.

gogohm · 20/03/2022 12:29

Pot plant as normal. Hopefully dd2 will send me flowers, chance of dd1 bothering is zero

NursieBernard · 20/03/2022 12:30

An LED rechargeable book light.

gingerhills · 20/03/2022 12:57

A big basket of fruit. She's in a care home and says it's all lovely, she just wishes she had more fruit to eat when she wants.

poorbuthappy · 20/03/2022 12:59

Bottle of merlot for my mum.

MissSmiley · 20/03/2022 12:59

Afternoon tea for one delivered to her front door by a local company. I used them before and she loved it.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 20/03/2022 13:01

My mum enjoys a pampering so a voucher for a facial at a local beauty salon.

FreezyFreezy · 20/03/2022 13:03

nothing this year as I can't afford to. I painted a daffodil on a card and will give her that.

The other year I bought her a joke Tesco value card and a Tesco value wine bottle label that I stuck onto a bottle of Merlot. She thought that was funny.

minniep · 20/03/2022 17:58

I'm buying her a particular brand of petite leggings. I bought her some as part of her Christmas present as she would never spend that money herself on casual or what she calls "around the house clothes" but she is loving them so she's getting another pair in a different colour

caringcarer · 20/03/2022 18:35

My Mum now dead, so bouquet to cemetery. Will get bouquet and chocolates for mil too.

Sweetener12 · 21/03/2022 08:40

This year I'm going with mother's day video and a mosaic kit, it's something like this- www.amazon.com/Midwest-Products-Daisy-Stepping-Craftwork/dp/B005571ZE8/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=mosaic+kits&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1647851878&sr=8-2

MrsTimRiggins · 21/03/2022 08:49

Mother in law, bottle of Merlot, bunch of flowers, framed photo of her and DS together.
Not sure about my own mother, she’s tricky to buy for…
Doesn’t drink
Doesn’t wear jewellery
Very picky about clothes
Strange relationship with food so no chocolates or anything
Currently between houses (sort of) so household anything is no good
V outdoorsy/horsey but has everything she could possibly need for that side
No other hobbies as such
Certainly not into beauty/pampering stuff
What a headache 😂

MegaClutterSlut · 21/03/2022 08:54

I've bought my mum thick socks and a fake Oodie as she feels the cold

Fatgalslim · 21/03/2022 08:58

An Oodie here too, with an avocado print Grin, a nice planter with plant and some Ferrero Rocher which she loves

yoshiblue · 21/03/2022 09:13

My mum will be getting Spring flowers and Secret Life of Being a Vet book.

FrenchyQ · 21/03/2022 09:15

I usually go with flowers/plant but this year I got her a really cardigan in the marks and Spencer sale. She never treats herself to anything new ,so I hope she likes it.

Peanutbutterfingers · 21/03/2022 09:46

My mum has insisted we don't spend a penny on her but make a donation to Red Cross for what we would have spent, I've asked the same from my son.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 21/03/2022 09:47

Box of chocs from Hotel Chocolate. She loves them so it's an easy win.

Horaceandgus · 21/03/2022 11:21

I’m nc with my mother but I bought my darling mil a picture in a frame,a bookmark with 3 pictures of her granddaughters on it,a coaster and will send flowers

She knows it’s me buying it all-her son would send a card but she’s more like a mum to me than my own mother and I love choosing stuff for her

LookItsMeAgain · 21/03/2022 11:27

I let DH look after getting his mum something and I look after getting my mum something.

I've arranged for a flower arrangement to be delivered earlier than Mother's day for her (just so I know they have been delivered and shouldn't be in the mad rush for delivery on Saturday), I've bought her a cushion as well (as she enjoys sitting down watching telly). I'll drop the cushion over to her at some point during the week too.

TheChosenTwo · 21/03/2022 11:33

A baby tree for her garden (that she asked for!) and some skincare as a surprise. She’s also coming here for Sunday dinner as we will be having mil for lunch.
My dbro makes no effort for Mother’s Day and my dsis is broke so I’ll put her name on the card Grin
