What does an adult swimming lesson cost near you?

I want to learn to swim properly. The only place near me that teaches is £70 an hour! Is this the normal going rate? I was hoping for £35 or £40. At this price it's unaffordable for me. What does it cost near you?

Our gym charges £24 for 30 mins, but you can share the cost with another person.

That's very high where is that at? I'm a swimming teacher we don't charge that even for one to one's.

I’ve just signed up at the local leisure centre - £41.45 a month for weekly 1 hour lessons plus free use of the pool at all other times.

I'm not sure what it is currently, but a few years ago it was less than £10 a session (usual entry fee basically) at the local council leisure centre. Anyone could turn up and join in on the day so obviously not 1 on 1.

I pay £32PM for 30mins once a week, the same rare as my DCs. That also includes swim membership, so we can swim outside our lessons as often as we like.

My DH is doing a swimming course at our local pool. Half an hour lesson with three other people £12 per lesson.

1-1 lessons are £25 for half an hour. £70 sounds bonkers! Who is the teacher? An Olympic champion!

I'm glad to hear there are reasonable prices out there! It looks like I need to try further afield.

£25 for 30mins one to one here. I'm not sure about group lessons.
