Anyone else got a terrible cold?

Definitely not covid, I've tested twice every day. But it's completely knocked me off my feet...was in bed for a whole day on day one. Now day three and so, so much snot, cough, exhaustion...haven't felt like this in so long! Is there a nasty cold doing the rounds as as well as covid??

I haven’t, but several colleagues off with bad colds, some with covid too.

Yep just had it and I had to sit down on a bench in the park because of the dizziness. I got it from my children so definitely going around!

Yes me! Was off work Friday with no voice, styes in both eyes, closed up throat, eyes streaming, the whole shebang. Today I’m at the stage of thick dark gunk being coughed up and nasty nose blowing. Haven’t spoken today yet (everyone else is in bed and I had a coughing fit so came downstairs an hour ago!) so I don’t know what’s happened to my voice! Oh - I’ve just tested it out - it’s kind of coming back to life!
Unfortunately I also had a similar cold a month or so ago - I never used to get colds

Yes, had it a week now. Had to take Tues and Weds off work and just slept. Looks like DD has caught it now judging by how much she was coughing in the night

Yes! I have a stinking cold. My head feels like it will explode and I am coughing, snotty and breathless. DH has it too and DD1 had it last week. We have all tested for covid several times and all are negative.

We both have Monday and Tuesday booked as days off and we’re planning to do loads of work on our garden. No chance of that now!

Yes on day 10 haven't had a cold like it for many years ...copious amounts of thick green snot....nice...

I have had a cold for like 4 to 6 months now and its driving me insane. I haven't had covid andi am not pregnant so why am I like this. It's very annoying and I love when my dh pecks on the cheek and hand. But I want a proper kiss from my Dh.

Yes. It's horrendous. Sinus pain, headache etc. I can't function unless I've had ibuprofen.

Only had Covid 3 weeks ago and now this! I think it's worse than Covid actually

Yep. 2 weeks now. Concrete snot, earache, sore throat, horrendous cough, aches and pains, no appetite. I had something similar in November, followed by Covid at New Year.

Followed by this, which I can’t seem to shake. Thought I was rallying a bit on Friday then yesterday I had to give up and take to my bed for 14 hours straight

I have not had this much illness in 4 months than in the last 4 decades !

I thought I had the same but I actually think it's horrific hayfever now. I get it but never this bad. The pressure in my head gives me a headache, short of breath, streaming eyes, the lot. I'm taking piriton every day plus a nose spray and neti pot and it's still bad. I hope it's not like this all summer

I've had 2 bad colds since having covid in January, no sore throat but lots of snot, tired, slight cough

Well, misery loves company so sort of glad I'm not suffering alone! I've had nothing the past two years - not even covid - so I'm sure my immune system is just not coping well!

Yes! FIL, MIL, BIL, SIL had this 10 days ago. Kindly gave it to my DC when they went to stay (didn't tell us they were ill else we'd have rearranged). DS caught it and gave it to me, DD is starting today. Everyone has tested several times, no one is positive.

Yes I have. Tested negative with LFTs for three days now. Sounds like I have a chest infection so now I'm worried if I do pick up covid, my lungs won't cope

DD (8) has had a bad cold but it hasn’t lasted very long thankfully. I can feel a bit of a tickle in the back of my throat though....
