How warm does it have to be for you to ditch winter woollens?

It’s a gorgeous spring weekend and apparently it 14 degrees C where I live.
I’ve seen shorts, t shirts and sleeveless dresses mingling with gloves, woolly hats and winter coats.
I’m personally to cold to shed the layers!

As soon as it goes above zero I start to feel too hot in my winter clothes, the problem is its still below freezing in the morning where I am, but by midday its warmed up quite a bit so I either sweat in my winter clothes or take them off and carry them. Or just don't go out until the weather gets less annoying...

We ditched hats and coats for the first time today. It's probably been too warm for hats for a while but they're comfy.

I still had my parka on today. Absolutely stunning day, but a really chilly wind! Brrr!

it's 15 degrees here, sunny but a strong cool breeze.
I have ditched the vest, and got my ankles out, but was perfectly comfortable in a merino jumper and trench coat.

I'm the one in tshirt and shorts. Can't bear feeling wrapped up.

I’m at work with jeans, boots and a hoodie! I’m cold until it gets to about 18 degrees C outside. Mind you if I wasn’t I’m incredibly pale and don’t like to expose any skin unless it’s really hotBlush

I still had hat, scarf, gloves, jumper, thermal t-shirt and winter coat on. I don't start feeling warm until it's about 23 degrees.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 19/03/2022 16:51

I never even put them on 🤦‍♀️

I wear a tee shirt all year round and put a light cardigan on if I feel chilly, but that's it.

Kite22 · 19/03/2022 17:12

Depends a bit what you are doing.
Today, I went for a walk for an hour or so. I had a thin sweatshirt over my t-shirt and I was fine - but I was moving the whole time.
Tomorrow I will be standing pitchside, watching a match (on quite a wide open, exposed park). I will definitely be wearing my coat and most likely my hat and an extra pair of socks too.

I have a dh who emits heat though. He's happy to wear shorts and t-shirt most of the year. He probably should have been a postman Grin

Echobelly · 19/03/2022 17:15

When it gets abover 10C I guess I drop the woolies, and I start wearing a lighter coat over about 13C

But as others have said, depends a bit what I'm doing, if I'll be outside much and so on.

HopefulProcrastinator · 19/03/2022 17:24

10° and I'm down to just a hoodie and normal socks. No coat unless it's raining.

13° or more is short sleeve weather.

I've been running in vests for 3 weeks because it's too warm for Tshirts. However I hate my legs so it needs to be unbearable for the shorts to come out.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 19/03/2022 17:41

No coat or woollens for me for the past couple of days, but not shorts and t shirts yet! Today I wore jeans, boots, t shirt and hoodie and felt comfortable.

Natsku · 19/03/2022 19:57

Temperatures feel completely different in spring compared to autumn. 10 degrees when you're coming from summer heading into winter feels positively freezing but 10 degrees when you're coming from winter feels like a heatwave. So in autumn I'm wearing long johns and warm coat, hat, gloves etc. when its +5 but in spring at +5 I'm taking them all off.

RampantIvy · 19/03/2022 20:01

There are some well 'ard posters on this thread. It's no wonder there are so many "I hate summer" threads on MN.

We had a max of 14 degrees here today, but with a chilly wind. I wore a camisole, sweatshirt and fleece jacket for our walk today. Anything less and I would have been miserably cold.
