Emergency appt - swollen optic nerve. Anyone? :(

Hi, I’m freaking out a little and wondered if anyone has experience of this?
Routine eye exam picked up that of my optic nerves is swollen. I think they said inflamed?
I was referred and a hospital letter was written the next day! The optician I saw earlier on in the week said usually pressure would present on both eyes

Obviously I’m worried it’s something really ominous and googling isn’t helping.

Has anyone had this?

I've known a few people who have had this. All were given emergency appointment, including one who had an overnight stay.
None of them was it anything to worry about.

Might be cellulitis? Would get this checked out asap. Do you have an eye hospital nearby?

I have an eye condition (optic disc Drusen) that sometimes.looks a bit like swelling around optic nerve but is actually caused by calcium deposits. Try not to panic or Google! The opticians at hospital.will be able to have a better look and let you know
