What is this plant?

I've tried to identify it on my plant ID app, but it's not managing.

We grew onions in this container last year, but they were all picked.

Whatever it is it's doing really well 🤦‍♀️

Dh has a habit of collecting wild seeds and then scattering them. In the same container I've found a garlic mustard plant.

I'm loathed to clear it out in case it's useful or edible. It's the first year it's happened so no idea of what flowers it might have.

Nearby were poppies, the onions and a wild flower which is blue - again from collected seeds -

It's spinach isn't it?

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 17/03/2022 22:17

The leaves are longer and less shiny than the spinach. It does look like red campion as well.

I ate it yesterday and I've been okay, but it didn't taste of much 😄

Opium comes from poppies doesn't it? Have you felt strangely relaxed since tasting the leaves? Any strange visions? Grin
Dishh · 19/03/2022 01:08

I'd say that's a variety of spinach. It's absolutely not poppies.

Looks like common sorrel.
