I get it when you are phoning a really big organisation but when you’re calling a fairly small local business (estate agents) is this really necessary? What’s the point of it?

Because person A got sick to death of taking messages for person B who was never at their desk/having a skive/too busy telling everyone how busy they were. Probably.

Estate Agents presumably have a sales bit and a lettings bit. Totally separate people dealing with completely different things.

I know @Sparklingbrook and I don’t mind that but then you press 2 for letting and it’s 1 if you wish to view a property, 2 if you wish to report a fault, 3 if …

And I’m only calling them back! And there’s only 2 people who deal with lettings!
