GHDs or Cloud 9s?

My beloved GHDs have finally died after 20 years and I'm wondering whether to replace them with new GHDs or Cloud 9s (which I've never used|). I have very thick, wavy, unruly hair. I use straighteners not to get it completely straight but just to keep it under control and make it hang nicely. Has anyone used both GHDs and Cloud 9s and can advise me? Thank you.

I moved from GHDs to cloud 9 on the recommendation of my hairdresser and I love them. The creator of Cloud 9 was one of the original creators of GHD so are very similar. I have the touch iron and for me it leaves my hair looking better than the GHDS but I know some who prefer GHD still! Sorry not much help there!

Thank you, that's very helpful. I'm leaning towards Cloud 9s.

I was going to say what @Monkeybutt1 did.
Cloud nines are so much better.

I have The platinum plus GHDs and I love them because they don't damage my hair at all! But my hairdresser uses cloud 9s and I do think the style lasts longer with them and she gets a really good curl out of them too!

I have the wide plate cloud 9s and love them. My DD has the standard plate ones and they are great too. Both of us previously had GHDs

I have an original v1 GHD which is still working (repaired professionally over the years) I have often thought to replace it but I know that the latest GHD temperature only goes to 150-180 degrees whilst the earlier models go to 200+ degree. Since I have some seriously thick, coarse, heavy hair I need some seriously high temperature irons to properly flatten it out.

Thanks for your comments everyone. My new Cloud 9s arrived today and I love them! I couldn't believe how smooth they were and they straightened my hair effortlessly. I just went over each section once and it was straight. It only took a few mins to do my thick head of hair. It now feels very smooth and soft. They also didn't pull my hair at all (my GHDs did a tiny bit). I love them!
