Anyone tested positive for covid right before holiday?

And I mean on the day before you go! Did you get your money back from insurance to cancel, and what evidence did you have to show? Was a home LFT enough? Appreciate it will range by insurer (this is assuming they cover this obviously)

Thank you!

I did - still in the process of claiming. They asked for a PCR test. When I called the advisor said if I couldn't get one, then take photos of the LFT so I have date stamped evidence and ideally more than one.

Thanks that’s helpful.

Anyone else? We’ve cancelled now. The lady on the phone said just the email from NHS confirming positive lateral flow result is fine (but I wasn’t v confident in her answers generally and surely anyone could fake that?!)

You can register your positive lateral flow on the nhs website (the one where you order the tests) & they will send you ‘official’ confirmation of the positive result.

Thanks, yes have done that but anyone can do that can’t they, doesn’t mean they’ve actually done a test or tested negative/positive, just that they have a test code! If they will accept that obviously I’m happy!

In the process of claiming here. They wanted to see the notification of a positive PCR test, plus the confirmation of 'no show' for the flight.

Yes that makes sense - we’ve only just been for PCRs today though as only just tested positive on LFT with symptoms etc! Flight tomorrow morning which we’ve rearranged . Spoke to them and they said to make a claim but don’t know if they’ll say the evidence is enough when they actually have it!
