Supermarket breakfast/lunch

Which supermarket serves the best breakfast/lunch?!

Morrisons do a great breakfast.

Sainsburys take far too long and the quality is a bit hit and miss but I understand most of their own restaurants are closing.

Tesco seem to not know what a grilled tomato is ... held briefly over a candle and their sausages and bacon are a bit salty.

We pop into Morrisons every week for a breakfast. It is almost always excellent. We used to go to a garden centre but it was more expensive for less food and poorer quality.

Morrisons is the best supermarket cafe by far. Sadly we don't have one near us, but we'd plan our meal stops around them on long journeys!

Both my MIL (2.5 hours away and 88yrs old) and my aged auntie (1.5 hours away and 94) have a Morrisons nearby, and it's a treat for me to call in for lunch or all day breakfast before seeing them (one in a nursing home and one I wouldn't ask to feed me for various reasons)

I've never eaten at a supermarket cafe in my life, but I am now very much tempted to pop into Morrisons tomorrow thanks to this thread Grin

TheChosenTwo · 16/03/2022 21:12

Me neither @pregnantncnc - if I’m forced in to one I’m out of there clutching my goods as fast as humanly possible, I’m not sitting around to sample the delights of their cafe Grin
I strangely thought this was going to be a thread about what food to take on the go for something like a car picnic!!

thisuser · 16/03/2022 22:24

Morrisons it is then!! I'm thinking of going on Thursday morning with my two little ones 😬

Yep I was coming on to say Morrisons too.

LoopyDream · 16/03/2022 23:09

Morrisons for sure. They’ve stopped their fried bread though which is a shame

Partybarty · 16/03/2022 23:11

@pregnantncnc

Yep me too. Think I'll go for breakfast with my little one.

Kite22 · 16/03/2022 23:11

Can't comment on their breakfast (we have two wonderful cafes on our high street that do a bargainous and scrumptious cooked breakfast so no need to investigate the supermarkets) but Morrisons do an EXCELLENT afternoon tea for a fiver.
