Fun place to eat in central London

I know this has been asked before - sorry. we’re taking the 2 kids ages 10&7 to London for a west end show in April. I’d like to find somewhere really fun and a bit different to eat with them beforehand. Not the rainforest cafe as I’ve heard the food is awful, and we’ve done Benihana before. Generally they eat anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

We took our 7 year old to the Sky Garden restaurant and he loved it.

Our three recently loved Shake Shack in Covent Garden - it's just posh fast food but was pretty nice and you can sit right in the middle of the market hall and hear the musicians etc. The outdoor seating section also has heating around the edge under the seats. Followed up with (expensive) but delicious ice creams from Venchi opposite.

My kids loved Chinatown at that age, set meal all the little dishes. But then they also liked set French meals too, especially if bread rolls were brought first (not sure why) and they liked being called mademoiselle. Another big hit was Comptoir Libanais, they also loved las iguanas for the mocktails

Inamo has interactive tables and a chef cam.
Cafe Pacifico is bright, colourful and very Mexican!

I took my kids to Ping Pong in Covent Garden recently… there’s a few in the city.

It was like chinese tapas! Really nice

Rainforest cafe the food is ok but it's not awful - and it's a super fun place to go if your kids have never been which for me would outweigh so so food. It's not like kids are gourmands so why not give them the animatronic animas
