I don't know specific times but yes, chemo for maintenance of the illness does happen.

FlibbertyGiblets · 16/03/2022 16:30

I mean maintenance of remission, sorry.

I know about CLL as my uncle has it. He has been having chemo now for over 10 years to keep it under control. Not permanently but on and off so probably once or twice a year and other treatments in-between. He leads a good life, has had to be very shielded the past 2 years, needs medical attention urgently if his temp goes above 38 but he goes on holiday etc....

I believe I read a story of this yes. The person had it for over ten years it kept reoccurring. Why do you ask?

Me. Maintenance chemo for ALL is definitely a thing, but also no idea how likely this is to be over 10yrs.
TheSpottedZebra · 16/03/2022 16:39

Sorry, ^that was meant to read SAME (not me). I've not had ALL.

Jemimapuddleduk · 16/03/2022 17:00

I only know about childhood ALL

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 16/03/2022 17:02

I think that sounds more Chronic than Acute?

Also wondering why you are asking?
