What happens to benefits recipients flee ukraine?

Do they still get their Ukraine benefits? Just seen something on the news, single mum with 5 dcs under 12 fleeing Ukraine with 20 euros and 2 little suitcases.

Are they still able to claim whatever they are entitled to until their host country officially accepts them? Just thinking it might take a while especially in Poland where they have so many fleeing to. Obviously people who leave jobs etc leave income behind but those claiming benefits probably don't have access to savings or credit cards or anything.

200 euros not 20 but its still not enough.

They will receive support from charities in the immediate short term (another reason, if more were needed, to cintribute cash if you can)

Then they will become eligible for benefits where they are living, under the terms set out by that country.

Ukraine has very limited scope to continue the executive functions of government right now, let alone take on the immense task of working out extra-territorial eligibility of the new (and one hopes temporary) diaspora
