Help me find a laptop please!!

I have two DD’s age 8 and 11.

We manage home learning at the moment via their iPads at home but it is clearly not sufficient and we need to invest in a family laptop.

Can I please have some recommendations?

We would mainly be using to access the internet for homework, maybe some PC games at a push and also for Microsoft.

Please help me out as I am clueless!

I was told by a local small computer shop to look for at least 8 gb ram and an ssd drive.
