and bought from Currys so having to do the "you need to speak to the manufacturer" dance.

Grrrr.

HISENSE if anyone wants to give them a swerve.

To be fair when it worked it was OK. Until it stopped hearing the water with an error code "E4 - Temperature sensor" (you don't say ....).

Annoyingly it had two rare features ... a proper time display and a dedicated cutlery tray.

I had a pretty bad experience with Currys (also a broken dishwasher). I was constantly being told different and conflicting things by their customer services over the course of several months and was completely at the end of my tether! What finally worked was raising a complaint through Resolver (free and often mentioned on MSE) - case was dealt with really quickly with a gesture of goodwill thrown in. I'd definitely give that a go - I think they may have a dedicated team which seemed to have more flexibility than their customer service centres.

many thanks guys.

I shall redirect the Hostage cannon at Currys via court.

OH is talking about buying another dishwasher (not from Currys and not HiSense obviously) while we get the refund sorted.

In the meantime, let this post stand as a reminder to swerve these brands.

I had a similar problem when I bought a faulty dishwasher from currys during lockdown.

It took me a year to get money from those bastards. A year. I kid you not.

But I got it. With advice from citizens advice.

Don’t give up. Read up on your rights. And never buy from them online again. I would consider buying from a branch as that’s local so I could put the faulty goods in the van and return them. But you can’t do that when you buy online.

What make is it? Call the manufacturers out then tell them you don’t want it repaired they will give curry’s an uplift number and they will either refund you or exchange it. It’s sometimes quicker going through the manufacturer. You may have to wait a while to get it replaced as there is a shortage of dishwashers at the moment for reasons I won’t bore you with.

@GreenLunchBox

Surprisingly enough, it's a tray to put cutlery in rather than a basket. Don't be a dick
