I’ve been on the pill for 16 years, and lately feel like my body doesn’t agree with it any more. I haven’t changed brands but the breakthrough bleeding is consistently worse if I take it back to back (smears clear). Every time I restart my pack I get spots. Then they return when I have my break.

My partners dad recently died of a blood clot and this has also made me wary of the associated risks, especially as I’ve been on it for such a long time. My doctor insists on seeing me every 6 months and it’s impossible to get an appointment meaning I end up buying packs to see me through which are expensive. I’m 33 and DP and I are thinking about children in the next couple of years so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I got pregnant, although I’d rather not.

I want to try a natural cycle-tracking contraception but haven’t got a clue which one! Any advice would be welcome.

I would highly recommend Flo, I have always found it so accurate and informative. I've used it for years!
