What lunch bag does your 11 or 12 year old have

DD is starting big school (y7) in September and she's my eldest so I would like to get her something cool, something that doesn't embarrass her and something that's common among people that age to take her packed lunch in. I've asked her what she would like and it's like getting blood out of a stone.
What packed lunch thingy does your DC have?

A carrier bag. Got told on Day 1 of secondary school that lunch boxes/bags were Not Cool.

My DS2 started year 7 last year and tbh he doesn't have a lunch bag anymore.

He carries a rucksack with all his stuff in and just has a sandwich box in that. He didn't want to carry a lunch bag as well as the rucksack.

Mine takes one of those Sistema cube/bento plastic boxes in his backpack.

I haven't heard that carrier bags are the way to go here, but apparently actual water bottles are Not Cool and you need to take a battered old plastic Evian or Volvic type bottle that you refill every day Grin

DD has a school bag with a built-in insulated section, in which her lunch goes in a standard Tupperware (a clear Sistema cube thing).
Lunch bags are not cool at secondary.

One of the thin plastic bags that the fruit comes in with my food shop from Tesco. My son wouldn't be seen dead with a lunch bag or box.

My son has a lunch bag, he says it’s fine. You obviously go for a more “cool” option of the child’s choice. Never heard anything was said about this and he’s in year 9.

Sistema cube chucked into the rucksack. No lunch bags.

Y8 DS just has a plain, blue box. Anything else would be 'so embarrassing' apparently Confused. I have his old Angry Birds one for work these days.

This is really good to know thank you everyone! She currently has an insulated zippy think with her name in sequins on the front. I appreciate this would absolutely tragic in year 7. I have a plain blue sistema bento that I'm willing to hand over.
What food do cool kids eat? DD would normally take a samosa or sandwich, babybel, frube and a bag of carrot sticks or fruit. I bet babybels are embarrassing. Frubes must be absolutely mortificado for them.
