Wedding tips with kids

My brother in law is getting married.

My husband is best man. My 5 year old is the flower girl. I will be a regular guest with our 18 month old toddler. Help! How will we survive the day, he is crazy with a capital C. Nicknamed The Destroyer because of his desire to pull/break/smash/suck/put everything in the bin.

I know, I know, relax and enjoy the day if I can...but is that really possible?? It's a madly long day for a toddler, we are a flight away from home (and a taxi ride from our hotel).

Any tips for me??

Is there anything at the venue he could do? Or could you cut your losses and go back to the hotel after the ceremony and meal?

Friends had your scenario and she went back to the hotel which had a kiddie pool and playground so she changed into normal clothes/swimsuit and entertained the toddller, had an early dinner and he was tired out and she enjoyed peace with a book.

We are staying in an air bnb - could possibly go back there but my daughter is flower girl and I would so love to see her up dancing etc. I think I will have to just have low expectations for my own participation in the day and anything that goes well is a bonus?!
