I was diagnosed with diabetes last year. Didn’t fit the criteria so more investigations. Turns out I have steroid induced diabetes due to my asthma medication. It’s rare so being referred to diabetes team. I am only 40.
I am constantly exhausted and my sleep pattern is off, which doesn’t help. Falling asleep during the day etc. getting early night means my body wakes up at 5am. It’s impacting my life as I am becoming irritated easily.
I have a stressful job, and work long hours. My boss is great, understanding and let’s me work flexibly. But there is a peer from another team making my life hell.
She joined 6 months ago and had a reputation of being a mean person from her previous team. Our interactions have been rude on her part. When she joined she was told to meet me as we will be working together on certain projects. On first meeting she closed the door in my face saying she was busy. Next she cancelled a virtual meeting with no notice and didn’t even turn up to the others. When I did eventually met her, she was the nicest person to my face, complimented me loads.
She delegated an urgent task to me that she was told to do without telling me and I was in annual leave. She got called out on this and since then has made my life hell.
She has told our manager that I was telling people confidential info and trying to influence promotions. None of that I did and found evidence I had not done it. My manager apologised to me.
Latest was a project we are working on. peer was suppose to arrange IT equipment for it, for both teams. I sent the list over what I wanted months ago and she ignored it, didn’t order for my team. It’s specialist equipment and takes months to order. Only found out 2 weeks ago. We were told by her order went in. She meant her her team only!
Had no apology from her, she has blamed others, said she didn’t know etc. I asked for a solution via email, giving a few. She Ignored it.
My manager got involved and told her to sort it. Peer video called me crying to tell me she wasn’t to blame. I did professionally disagree and sent her the email trails and task logger.
Now friday evening she has hit my manager with another complaint about me. Also been told she is slagging me off. Nothing is true as I was not at work that day, as was at a hospital appointment. My manager has told me not to worry, but how can I.
This girl seems to have it in for me. I literally feel I am at school. However not too sure if my judgement is clouded as I am so tired. Anxiety of having to deal with her is making it worse.
Any advice?
