Anyone had an inflamed mole?

Mole on the back of my head has got a red ring around it/ looks swollen and a bit scabby. I’m waiting to see Dermatologist about it. In meantime has anyone had similar and it not been melanoma? I’m worried because I’ve had it for at least a few months but probably longer. I mean how often do you look at the back of your head?

Yes, several, including one that bled and one that went hard and crusty. You absolutely need to get it checked out but moles can get infected or damaged just like any part of your skin so don't fear the worst.

Yep, I had small one on my face that went from solid brown to pale pink then scabby. Dermatologist checked it over 10 years ago and said it’s fine but we can whip it off if you want? I said no thanks, it’s part of me! No trouble since.

It’s the red halo around it that’s concerning me the most I think.

Never with a ring, but I’ve had 2 moles for my entire life that swell up and get angry and painful from time to time. The dermatologist Isn’t remotely worried.
