If you're a Rainbow/Beaver Leader - what do they call you?

So I'm opening a new Rainbow unit having done Brownies before. In Brownies the leaders are all called after owls - Brown Owl in charge and then Tawny Owl etc but there is no standard for Rainbow leaders (same in scouts - Cub leaders are jungle book characters but can't see any names for beaver leaders)

I've been told I can be whatever I want but I don't know what to choose!!

If you run Rainbows or Beavers and have a naming system can you share what it is to give me ideas?

My brother went to Cubs and the leader was called Akela - the Jungle Book theme seems to be a popular one.

DH was Big Beaver but they seemed to have scrapped that 'tradition' for some reason Grin

I'm Kaa.

I ran a Rainbows group for many years when I worked overseas on a military base in Germany. I was Dandelion, which is the symbol used for military children everywhere 💗

Our cub pack has a jungle book theme too. Just googled it: goes back right to the start with Baden Powell. Didn't know this - every day is a school day!

I like weather names for rainbow leaders-

You can have some fun with it-
Thunder and Lightening (two young leaders)
Sunshine
Cloud
Windy (😂 if you are feeling brave) etc…

I'm sure the Rainbows I helped out in didn't have names for the leaders and assistants. I think it was because they are so little that if on a fun day they got separated then there could be a few Pandas or Foxes but probably only one Nicola and one Helen.

When I was a Brownie assistant I was Little Owl as I'm just under 5ft.

I’m name changed as it is quite distinctive. We were named after Sonic characters: Shadow, Chaos, Pixie, Tails, Wisp. Worked well for us.

I'm a Beaver leader and we have Jungle Book names

Some good ideas - It seems strange that the cubs and brownies have a traditional name set but the other ages don't! Yes Jungle Book is the standard for Cubs and Owls are standard for brownies.

I like colours - but worry we would end up with girls with the same actual name - scarlett, violet etc.

The weather idea is a good one to link to the rainbows idea.

The sonic ones are great! they work really well as names! thinking of the girls in my group maybe my little pony would work? AppleJack, Rainbow Dash etc.

My name is quite harsh sounding and harder for little ones to say, hence thinking a naming system for leaders might be a good idea for us.
