Not horror with lots of people dying but more of ghost story. Something like Sixth Sense or The Others.
Any recommendations please?

I think it's technically for older kids/young adults but DH and I really enjoyed "The Night Books" on Netflix. Creepy and a bit jumpy but no gore.

Going off piste - The Father (Olivia Colman and Anthony Hopkins) is the most disturbing/sinister non horror I've ever seen. You feel like he's in his own, personal horror film and nobody else around him can see it. Absolutely amazing film.

I watched Annihilation recently, which is a horror sci-fi but also quite cerebral. The scary bits aren't necessarily to blood/gore...

The Conjuring films are good. Especially the second one. Scared the bejesus out of DH.

The Changing. 1980 but holds up well today. George C Scott is terrific.

I second that. It's an incredible film. I saw it at the cinema and it's like no other film I've ever seen.

If you didn’t see The Mezzotint (was on BBC at Christmas) that was good. Should be on iPlayer.
