Is now a good time to get solar panels?

I’ve always envisaged that we would get solar panels at some point in the future. Been holding off until technology improves/ costs coming down/battery storage is affordable.
With increasing energy prices is now a good time to invest or is it still likely to be more economical to hold off for now?

How many ways are there to look at the process of having solar panels installed? Is it a financial exercise for the hosts only or is it an investment in the world, for the future? I got a few and rather wish now that I had had more. I get some payback but I might not live long enough to get a whole payback of my initial outlay. I do not regret harnessing the sun's power, though. We can never know what might be if we wait. All the best with your deliberations.
