Ukraine.. When is it going to escalate/end?

My heart is aching for the Ukrainians, I have anxiety & have been consumed with the news... However I do believe anxiety aside that the war can't be contained within Ukraine for much longer & it will spread... Where is it going to end up?

My COO who actually speaks quite a lot of sense thinks the only way that it can de-escalate is for their to be a revolution inside Russia.

I agree with this & it will take a huge cohort to overthrow the regime as anyone who speaks out gets jailed for 15 years... I also think of the effects of the war on Poland... They have been so amazing in their efforts with the refugees but it must be taking its toll on the people & towns on the border who are volunteering tirelessly.. My fear is it will spread & escalate to ww3..

If it does escalate to WW3 it will be Putin that does it.
My DB, who is really into history and wars, says that all Putin actually wants is the east side of Ukraine so he has access to the sea in the south.

Not too sure about this. A revolution in Russia will be messy, prolonged and will end in civil war. There will be the huge risk of weapons ending up in the wrong hands.

A coup might be better, probably not likely.

I'm quite worried where this is all going.

Still messy. there would need to be enough of his generals to support it, which is unlikely, and then you still have rogue army units armed with who knows what.

Oh the other hand the West cannot do a thing because Putin has his nuclear weapons.

I've no idea what the way out could be. Mind you, if I did I wouldn't be siting posting on MN, I'd be highly paid in the UN or something.
