The Witchfinder on Iplayer is brilliant!

Anyone else seen it?! I've just binge watched six episodes.
Great to see Daisy May Cooper as an intelligent character getting the better of the idiot blokes around her. Really enjoyed it and some good feminist points being made too. Would love to chat about the series!

Only seen the first one. DMC delivered every line brilliantly and just her facial expressions crack me up. I was surprised by a few bad reviews because I loved it. I didn’t know they were all on IPlayer. I will watch them all then.

I have a real soft spot for Tim Key, so I've watched the first three episodes. It's OK, I'll watch it all but it's not the sort of thing I'd watch again or recommend to others.

LordEmsworth · 12/03/2022 18:14

Really???

It looks like the sort of thing I'd love but there was a lot - a LOT - of negativity about the first episode so I didn't bother... Does it get better or do you just disagree with all the reviewers?

Interesting. Also placemarking because I was put off by terrible reviews (although they praised DMC's performance).

Jackiebrambles · 12/03/2022 18:19

I nearly didn't watch it as the reviews were so bad but dh was keen as we both loved her in this country and we thought it was very good! Only watched the first one but will definitely stick with it.

Flyonawalk · 12/03/2022 18:43

I’m watching it and like it so far (two episodes).

Love DMC. Also like the comment on modern life in the form of mob rule and adherence to nonsensical rules!

MrsWooster · 12/03/2022 18:48

It’s a slow starter -episode one is not enticing- but we’re up to episode four and enjoying it.

JeanFinch · 12/03/2022 19:33

I didn't see any of the reviews. It's very allegorical and brilliantly done I think, in fact the comments on society and people's lack of critical thinking is better than the humour side of it probably (I wasn't laughing out loud but more of a kind of knowing chuckle).
