I've finally done it, I've brushed my teeth with face cleaner

Why? Why did I keep my tube of face cleaning balm, which is so similar to my toothpaste.. next to my toothpaste.

Bedtime here, and I didn't turn the bathroom light on, and had given some of my teeth a really good scrub before I realised.

On holiday in Iceland I once put on body wash as face cream and wondered why it was stinging so much 😂 my friend could not stop laughing at me (we’d shopped last minute for miniatures at boots so wasn’t my usual cream but it really hurt!)

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 11/03/2022 15:04

Whenever i peel the foil lid of a new pot of moisturizer i have to say to myself 'don't lick it, don't lick it...'

@EmmaH2022 it wouldn’t let me quote your post. But I vomited so violently I tore my throat lining and was throwing up blood :(

I had an op downstairs years ago, GP strongly advised using bepanthen on stitches when itchy .

Middle of the night I grabbed what I thought was bepanthen …

It was strong steroid cream that I had previously used for eczema . Christ it stung .

contactornotthatisthequestion · 11/03/2022 16:05

my friend has used tiger balm instead of lovehoney lube in a tin, pile cream for toothpaste AND a fabulosa fabric freshner as dry shampoo, we dont tend to leave her unattended any more if can help it Grin

and yes it honestly is my friend not me

MooChops89 · 11/03/2022 16:06

I opened the thread thinking face cleaner as Toothpaste might be the new "thing" for white teeth or something and you were showing us your results 😂

@2DogsOnMySofa

I've washed my hair with the dog shampoo before now - was lovely and shiny

My friend, back in uni days, was in bed with a migraine for a few days so I took her a bit of a food parcel round. She asked me to get her (I was going to say fetch but that would have been too much of a pun) some migraine tablets, she told me where they were but all I could find was her dogs worming tablets. I showed her the box and asked if she'd been taking these tablets - yep, she'd been taking the dogs worming tablets for 2 days Grin no wonder her migraine hadn't gone

And yes, it was in her house that I washed my hair with the dog shampoo

We had a very elderly neighbour years and years ago, she was 96 or something and lived alone with help from half the street . She accidentally swallowed her dog’s heart tablets once, long before NHS 24 or the internet existed in any usable form . Remember her sitting in my mother’s kitchen crying with a brandy, wailing that she was going to die, and Glaswegian neighbour quipped, ‘Nae worries hen, when you start barking, then we’ll panic’ …

I'm waiting for the day I try to take my mascara off with nail polish remover Confused, the bottles are so similar I always do a double check just in case, but it's coming...

WellNotReally · 11/03/2022 16:19

Years ago when fake tan was a new invention and VERY orange, a friend came to school with two bright orange patches on her cheeks. She'd mistaken fake tan for Anne French (there's a blast from the past). She was probably the palest girl in the school so it was really obvious. Poor thing

I can still recall the time when a male colleague sunbathed in the garden, burnt his legs and face quite badly and sprayed deep heat on the sunburn instead of after sun (by mistake, obviously)
Never seen anyone so beetroot red before or since

DashhboardConfessionals · 11/03/2022 16:56

Some of these are quite clearly made up nonsense. You definitely would not be able to 'drink' half a bottle of body lotion. It's not possible

Mine is not made up. If you knew me, and my scatty ways, you'd nod your head sympathetically Wink
lborgia · 11/03/2022 20:18

@DashhboardConfessionals - well I enjoyed coming back to the thread, smiled sympathetically to myself at the various posts, and then found yours.

Maybe take your rudeness and go and sit in aibu, because you're in the wrong place with your snarky, grumpy posting.

Snarky grumpy types that way >>>>>

I once brushed mine with Philip Kingsley Elasticiser.

Thought 'why does this toothpaste taste so bland'?

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/03/2022 20:22

Don't feel bad, OP. I once brushed my teeth with the German equivalent of Deep Heat. And then I mentioned that I didn't think much of the new toothpaste.

So if you ask me, this could happen to anyone.

lborgia · 11/03/2022 21:50

As a result of this thread, I actually got out of bed and went and moved the deep heatGrin

Yeh, out of all the things glamorous and dramatic things I could have made up, I made up drinking lemon body lotion. And I’d argue that it was more than half. I’ll also ‘make up’ that I tore the tissue in my lower esophagus, I couldn’t get an ambulance to the hospital that was around an hour away, and I resorted to phoning a an ex of 6 years that I’d recently broke who was in bed with his new girlfriend at the time to give me a lift to a and e. Totally made up 👍🤨
Babadook76 · 12/03/2022 00:43

Omg the typos didn’t help me there 😂

MrsMoastyToasty · 12/03/2022 01:00

I've sprayed my armpits with furniture polish...

lborgia · 12/03/2022 01:23

@Babadook76 - you have a very weird imagination thenHmm

@MrsMoastyToasty - no idea why, but that might be the funniest so far! I guess I'm wondering where you keep your furniture polish?!

How on earth is body lotion thin enough that you can drink it? Or drink more than just a small amount? Surely it takes quite an effort to get it to the back of mouth and then to go down your throat?
