Does anyone remember a quarantine project at school in the 80s?

I dreamt about this recently and I'm not sure if it's a real memory

It was a project (the 80s were all about projects at school - mixing subjects) about there being an illness at school and we had to make posters and write a diary and meal plan - sorting out dormitories and washing rotas

And speaking to our parents through the railings and what to do with dead bodies

I think we worked on it in English.....

So am I creating a memory or was it a thing?

Certainly wasn't a thing at my school.

We did something like this. Apart from the teachers in attempt to make it really realistic staged - someone from the office came to "tell us the news" that we were actually going to be quarantined at school and would not be allowed home.

I thought it was brilliant. But there were a lot of tears. And a lot is my friend's parents complained to the school.

Five out of six English classes did something along those lines. I did was in the class that didn't, but was fine with that!

I did this at secondary school in the mid-90s! Must have been year 7 or 8. We had to write a story imagining what it would be like if the school was quarantined due to an outbreak of some illness. I can still remember parts of the story I wrote! Funny what sticks in your mind…
