Hello all. 12 month vaccines yesteday. DD has now got hot, red hard lumps at the injection sites. Is this normal or do they look infected. This is Dc 3 so you’d think I’d know what to do by now 😂😂. Thank you - I’m slightly worried.

Hi @Fluffyhairteddy, my little girl had her vaccines a few weeks ago and had similar red patches which went away after a couple of days. She also had hard lumps at injection site that took about a week to go down. See how they are in a couple of days, if they’re still hot and really red maybe ask to speak to a nurse for advice. But they look normal to me for saying they were only done yesterday. Hope your little one feels okay x

They look normal to me, DS had them at his 1 year and 3.4 year jabs

Looks like an injection site reaction rather than infection.

Thank you. I’ll calm down now. And breathe x

Doesn't look like an infection. Might be a bit sore though.

Man I love baby legs. Properly scummy Grin

Mine had hers yesterday and look like this too, it's just a reaction at the injection site. Did the nurse give you a leaflet at the appointment? Ours gave us one with lots of useful info about what's a normal reaction after the jabs as they can get some more symptoms a week or more later. Worth having a look on the NHS website if you didn't get one so you know what to look out for xxx

Mine had hers last week and they didn't go go red at all. If you're worried give the doctors a phone. Nothing is silly when it comes to babies.

Ds2 always reacted like this to baby jabs...he was also the one who got (mild) baby eczema and came out in hives several times for no apparent reason...just generally seemed sensitive to all things skin related! Although he has nothing now at age 11. But yes, hot, red and lumpy was normal for him and usually went in a few days x

DC3 had huge lump like that, only one of my kids who ever reacted like that. Faded after about 1 week.

I should hope HV will take a look & chat thru with you about it. DC3 is now 17yo, wandering around house getting sweets & chips after work... No eczema or anything else worrisome with his skin ever happened. He gets insect bites easily, I suppose (so do I)

It’s fine now thank goodness. No leaflet. Health visitor? What’s that? They pretty much don’t exist and more. Thanks all
