Hello. Walking home yesterday, a wheelchair ran over my foot. Bruising has really come out now - really hurts. Any ideas on how to help the bruising? Thanks :p

Arnica cream is supposed to help bruising (zero experience but it always gets mentioned for bruising)

TheHorrorOfIt · 10/03/2022 17:15

Arnica cream is like magic! It speeds everything up so the colours will come out but it will all disappear faster. That looks really sore OP!

Arnica tablets. I slipped and fell getting into the bath. Ended up bruised from my fanjo, down the entire length of my thigh both front and back and part way up my bum cheek. Someone recommended the arnica tablets to me and within a few days the bruising had started to go from black and purple to yellow in places. It did take a few weeks to completely disappear but it wasn't as painful either. I don't think I could've even touched my leg to rub cream into it

Have you checked that it isn't broken? I walked around with a fractured bone in my foot for a good while (not for the same reason and also didn't look as bad as that!)

MaizeAmaze · 10/03/2022 17:32

Arnica, but echoing above: are you sure something hasnt broken?

100problems · 10/03/2022 17:34

OMG that looks like chopped liver! It must have taken everything in you not to burst into tears.

Also Arnica.

AuntFlorence · 10/03/2022 17:39

Arnica bath oil soak

Ibuprofen tablets if it's painful

Zinc and vitamin C can help with healing.

But please also get an x ray!

Also recommend arnica, but the gel is less painful to apply than the cream-it doesn't require as much rubbing in.

deepbreath · 10/03/2022 19:21

Was it a powerchair or a manual one? Powerchairs can weigh 150kg without someone in them. Please consider getting an X-ray!

Aloe Vera gel, or witch Hazel

Titsflyingsouth · 11/03/2022 11:10

Arnica is really good. Used it after a nasty wisdom tooth extraction.
