Best all inclusive/package holiday you've been on?

We're new to the package holiday scene but with 3 young kids I think it's time to embrace the world of hotel pools, kids clubs, sunshine and buffets! I don't really know where to start, looked on Tui but the choice is overwhelming.

Looking at Europe, preferably only a few hours flight time from the UK.

Any recommendations/experiences gratefully received!

Liberty Hotels Lykia in Turkey. I’ve been several times with my 3 kids it’s amazing.
This is a lovely hotel but it quite a drive from the airport and the beach is pebbly. I think this is part of the Paloma chain in Turkey, I've stayed in a couple of their other hotels in the Antalya region, and they were all good, and nearer Antalya airport.

My check list always includes separate sleeping space, so an apartment, not family room.

More than one main restaurant, so you're not stuck with same food all the time. Good hotels will offer 1 or 2 a la carte meals per week in a different place. A pool snack bar is handy too so you not need to have lunch in the formal dining room. Ice cream included on AI (most do, but some don't!). With kids your age you might want to look for a hotel that offers kids buffet station too.

Short transfer time (1 hour max) from the airport.

Bonus if there's water park / splash park on site. Some of the big family hotels have softplay and mini golf etc, great to keep kids busy.

For April, look at the Canary Islands.

Balerics or Greece is likely still to cool at that time of year.

I thought the HV in Cyprus was good as a hotel. Nice rooms, good pools etc. But you could’ve been anywhere in the world… and yes the clientele were like something from shameless as others said. Never again.
