Thanks

He doesn't want to be a pilot
But his eyesight is fine

Tell him to go for it , great career choice

A lot will depend on what route he's looking at. What trade and does he want to be an officer or an nco?

DS was in air cadets and was thinking of the officer route. He decided that being posted overseas was something he just didn’t like the thought of. But he also hated the food on military bases. He has however been predominantly raised on home cooked Chinese food, his Dad is white so we do eat English food sometimes.

Three of his friends have joined the army and RAF. Two love it and one will leave asap.

He's interested in the aircraft mechanical engineer apprenticeship

Thanks for the messages, he's lost his way a little over the last couple of years and I think it would be good for his confidence among other things

My friends son joined about 10 years ago. He was not brilliantly academic but tries hard. He is taking his sergeant exams at the moment. He also lost his way in his final year or so in school. If my memory serves me right he was only 16 when he joined. Make sure your son trains for the fitness test as he found it tough x

SonIL did this. He maintains (well he would) that the RAF has the finest technical training of any of the 3 services. I'd tell him to go for it.

Thank you that's great Smile
