Ground mail Canada to UK

Yup probably a very boring question but I bought an item via PayPal which was despatched from Canada to UK 5 weeks ago today

Buyer then tells me they sent it surface mail (for the value , this was very stupid of them)
I asked for tracking, they said they didn’t send it tracked 🤣

At this point I don’t expect it to arrive in one piece , or even arrive at all.

How long should I wait? I’ve messaged them but they just told me to be patient .

I’m not worried about my money, I know I will be covered by PayPal but I’m trying to figure out how long I should wait before escalating

Omg. Surface from Canada can take months. Def longer than 5 weeks. Sorry!!

ha. ha. ha. Settle in for a long wait. Seriously, give it at least 8 weeks. It almost shouldn't be called a 'service' at all.

I had an item sent surface from Vancouver on 22nd December 2021. Tracked. It's still on a boat. Current lead times 16 weeks. I feel your pain. Was t a pressure canner??

I bought a quilting kit, so lots of fabric and a pattern, late October and it took exactly ten weeks, which is what they estimated it to be. Postage was 100 Canadian dollars but when I looked at the airmail option that was even more crazy! I wasn't in a rush though and couldn't get it over here so it was fine. But I did start to panic that it might not ever arrive! It wasn't a tracked service either.

It’s batshit that the seller sent it surface mail untracked. It’s a bloody vinyl 🤣 I was stunned when they said there was no tracking, with all that time in the mail there’s no way that’s going to make it here flat
