I'm watching The Towering Inferno and it's given me a hankering for more shag carpets and flares.

Bonus points if it's a disaster movie as I bloody love those. I'm also a YUGE fan of Alien (which just gets in at 1979) so anything similar I'm down for.

All the Airport films.
Averted disasters AND snowstorms usually. Win-win.

For black eyeliner and Robert Redford etc Barefoot in the Park and The Way We Were.

For messy sobbing: Love Story.

Another one for the Poseidon Adventure. I watched it the other day and I discovered it on Netflix or Prime, I forget which. I can't say how many times I've seen that film, first time was at the cinema when it first came out!

2catsandhappy · 09/03/2022 21:27

Ooh no brainer. Vanishing Point with Barry Newman. Hot 2nd, Silent Running. A space sci fi film. Damn, want to watch them both now!

SleepOhHowIMissYou · 09/03/2022 21:27

Sleuth with Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine is absolute genius.

The Posieden Adventure is a classic - great film.

Making a note of them all - I actually already have The Poseidon Adventure lined up (son and I bond over disasters Grin) and Jaws, although he won't be watching that one it'll scare him senseless!

Loads of others here I can't wait to see - you know I've heard of most of them but not seen any?! What's all that about?
