Why have I become so antisocial?

I work 3 days a week, since starting a new job a year after my first DC was born (i still just have 2). Pre baby and in my full-time working days, I used to be sociable with my colleagues and do things out of work. I did work there a fairly long time so I did know them better than at my new job; but these days I find myself not really interested in even speaking to my colleagues! I also feel I'm out of practice with how to "banter" and I keep taking sarcasm literally 🙄
What's happened to me? Am I the only one who's been affected in this way since lockdown, home working and having a baby??

Lockdown made a lot is antisocial. We just didn't see people the same. We formed new habits.

It'll come back x

I feel like that since lockdown I have become a hermit, everything seems to much effort...getting dressed up, driving to a venue, making conversation usually in a bar/restaurant I don't want to be at, having to sort out childcare, paying stupid money for drinks...rather be at home!!

Unsociable 😁 Anti Social would you be out creating anarchy in your area 🤣

I'm the same tbh, lost the joy for going out and socialising recently, or making small talk.

I don’t think you’re alone by any means. Lots of people’s social skills are a bit rusty and people have a lot on their minds right now, as have you! I think most of us thought once covid restrictions were over we’d all bounce back into our old social lives and it hasn’t quite happened like that.
As maddy68 says, we’ve formed new habits and it will come back.

Well you sound like you're unsociable not antisocial! People always get this mixed up

TacoCats · 09/03/2022 10:25

I've been the same for years, really don't enjoy going out socialising. Haven't stepped foot in a pub etc for over a decade.
I prefer to be at home curled up with my cats and books. If someone tries to make small talk with me, I feel so awkward.

I am exactly the same after a very similar situation to you. Its crazy, I was so sociable before!
